Passionate about cinema systems, Phantom AVS is also the Turkish distributor for Procella Audio. The company has been operating for six years and is based in Istanbul. Selçuk CANARA, Sales Manager, explains, “We specialise in high-performance custom cinema systems, providing both technical consultancy and system integration. In Turkey, reference-level cinema systems like this are almost non-existent and this project aims to raise the bar in this field.”
Selçuk reveals, “The showroom project started as a personal goal to create a reference-level cinema room. I wanted to build a system that pushes the boundaries acoustically and technically, both for my own experience and professional sharing. The lack of similar-level systems in Turkey motivated me further. As a result, this room became a reference cinema space both personally and professionally.”
The initial plan was to create a custom cinema room with the highest possible audio and video performance. CEDIA/CTA-RP22 guidelines were used as a reference, aiming to comply as closely as possible with Level 4reference quality.
Selçuk says, “However, as the project progressed, the attention to detail increased and many improvements were made at every stage. In particular, the ceiling speaker placement, Trinnov WaveForming system implementation, DSP integration and acoustic balancing evolved significantly. Numerous revisions were made to reach perfection.”
The room measures approximately 4.8 metres wide, 5.6 metres deep and 2.6 metres high. The space was isolated according to the floating room principle, and an internal structure independent of the outer walls was created to eliminate external vibrations and sound leakage.
Inside the room, specially designed acoustic panels were used in selected areas to improve acoustic performance and add visual appeal.Some walls were covered with acoustic fabrics, and all surface placements were planned based on acoustic symmetry and balance.
At the front stage, a baffle wall system integrates the speakers and subwoofers. This structure improves frequency control of the frontstage and provides a sleek cinematic look.

The system is DSP controlled via a Trinnov Altitude 32, and thanks to WaveForming technology, each subwoofer is optimised to operate with millimetre-precise timing and phase alignment. All speaker placements, heights and angles were laser-measured and precisely aligned to achieve extraordinary phase and soundstage coherence using Trinnov’s calibration engine.

Selçuk explains, “The reason I chose Procella Audio is because their products are designed specifically for cinema use and offer a combination of high SPL capacity and tonal accuracy. Being the distributor in Turkey and having full knowledge of their products allowed me to utilise the system performance to its maximum potential.
“Procella Audio provided support from start to finish. Critical technical issues such as subwoofer placement, speaker configuration, PEQ values and WaveForming algorithms were directly supported by their engineering team. This assistance ensured the product capabilities were perfectly integrated with the room’s acoustics. Additionally, we received support during software and hardware integration to ensure optimal product performance. Acoustic treatments were also implemented with the support of specialised teams.”
Beyond audio, to create different ambiences upon entering the room, Philips Hue and Govee LED strip systems were installed. These lighting systems are controlled via Home Assistant automation and integrated into the overall control system through Control4. This setup allows easy adjustment of lighting and mood according to film genre, time of day or user preference.
One of the biggest challenges was placing the Atmos speakers at ideal angles and heights due to the limited ceiling height. Special mounting solutions were developed by the team to overcome this. Selçuk adds, “Synchronising the subwoofers via WaveForming and adjusting their phase and timing with great precision was also a very technical process. Additionally,due to the floating room construction, all infrastructure cabling had to be concealed yet accessible, which complicated planning.”
The entire system was calibrated with the Trinnov Altitude32 processor, with Selçuk personally conducting the process. Using Trinnov’s 3Dmicrophone, phase, delay and frequency balance were achieved among allspeakers.
Selçuk remarks, “Especially after WaveForming, the bass response and overall soundstage depth reached an extraordinary level. The calibration ensures no loss of detail aboth very high SPL levels and low volume scenes.”
The performance is underlined as Selçuk’s favourite part of the whole system is the Procella-based subwoofer system. He enthuses, “The WaveForming system created with 8 P18Si subs provides an experience that captivates emotionally as well as physically. During explosions in films, the whole room vibrates, while in quiet scenes you can feel the details in complete silence. Also, the perfect speaker placement creates an incredible soundstage depth and 3D imaging, making every viewing feel like the first time.
“Since I am both the implementer and the customer for this project, my favourite moment is when everything comes together — that very first film scene where all speakers deliver perfectly synchronised sound — the moment when adream years in the making becomes reality.”
